High School Friends and ONU Friends Crossover Episode

Image
This past weekend I was fortunate enough to have eight of my friends visit from out of town. This was a very cool experience for me because none of my friends from home knew my friends from college. I was extremely interested to see them interact because it is almost like my two lives colliding for a weekend.       I was also excited to show them what it's like to live in Ada. They were pleasantly surprised by the campus, but it was funny watching them look at the Door Dash app only to find Subway and McDonald's. I thought it was crazy how I could barely think of a couple places to take them for food even though they were only here for 24 hours.       When everyone was together later, they got along great. It was cool to see the interactions, although it was hard at first for people to remember names. Of all the nights at ONU, this might be my favorite one. It is tough to say because there have been a lot of fun nights, but this one was very unique.      It is so rare to h

Chapter 12 - Useful Blog Tips and Facts

In the intro to this chapter, it was very surprising to me to see that 77% of internet users read blogs. Personally, I haven't read many blogs outside of this class before, so I wasn't expecting the number to be as high as it was. The chart that includes the different types of popular blog categories made more sense to me. I realized that I hadn't considered all of the popular blogs and topics that were directed at a certain group of people. Most business posts are professional and may not connect with most people. But those companies who are able to generate lots of interaction on their blogs receive a significant amount of attention.  One of the difficulties of blogging that I agree with is the continuous flow of content. You have to be able to catch the readers eye in the first place, then you

Christmas Break - Fun and Important Moments

I had a very action-packed Christmas break that consisted of some fun moments and not so fun events. It makes the most sense to start at the beginning, when my dad and I went to a Clippers vs. Pacers game in Indiana a week before Christmas. Although that seems normal, the reason we went was not what you would expect. I don't really follow the NBA that much, but I know most of the players and who is good. But I am the biggest fan of the Clippers backup center Daniel Theis. At least that I know of. The story of how I decided on him as my favorite player is quite unique.       When he entered the league about 6 years ago, I loved to play the NBA video game of 2k. I was playing my friend as the Celtics, (Theis's old team)  when I decided to put in Daniel Theis, who was at the bottom of the depth chart. I went on to score 50 points with him and destroy my friend. After that, I would always dominate my friends with Daniel Theis even though he may not have been the best player on
