Why LinkedIn is a Unique Social Media App

LinkedIn is a unique social media platform. Unlike most other platforms, LinkedIn is strictly for business. Whether businesses are on it or personal users it is a professional social media app. With this, users have to watch what they post even more than other social media apps. Almost all businesses will look at your LinkedIn page to see if there is anything that shouldn't be there.

For some statistics on LinkedIn, it is the 18th most popular social media app in the world. It is a male dominated app, and the US is the number one country for LinkedIn. Also, LinkedIn has the highest percentage of business-to-business marketing of any social media app.

Obviously with that, most of the advertisements and marketing focus comes from business to business. This means businesses have to create target markets for other businesses in order to start creating their advertisements. That is a very different mindset than marketing towards customers. When marketing to other businesses, there is a good chance that they are also experts on whatever you are selling. It is harder to make creative content when your target market is in that boat.

Moving on from the marketing aspect, LinkedIn took big strides during COVID-19. Along with most apps, COVID drove more traffic into the social media world. LinkedIn took advantage of this by creating LinkedIn courses teaching how to work virtually and be more productive online.

Looking ahead for LinkedIn, it appears that they are on the rise. They just introduced AI-powered collaborative articles, which has drawn a lot of interest. With the introduction of AI, there are many opportunities for LinkedIn and other social media apps.

In the end, LinkedIn is unique because of how it coincides with the business world. It is clearly the front runner in that area and that is a market that won't go away. LinkedIn will never be a top social media app, but it will have a role for the foreseeable future because of it
s unique style.

  1. LinkedIn Is definitely cheat code when it comes to finding interns and jobs you're seeking in your field. You bring up a very good point when you said that it is a market that will never go away, but it is a unique app that can't really be copied.
