Marketing with Instagram

    Marketing with Instagram is one of the best ways to reach the younger generation. Personally, I've bought a couple things from advertisements that I see on Instagram, but not on other social media. There are a lot of interesting statistics that show why Instagram is one of the most important apps to advertise on.

    First off, the largest age group is 18-24. This is a very important piece of information when considering the target market. Facebook isn't as prevalent among younger generations, so when you have a product that fits young people Instagram is the place to advertise.

    Another statistic that I was a little surprised about is that Instagram is the third most popular social media app in the world. I knew it would be high on the list, but I didn't think it would be top three in the world. This further cements why it is such a good place to advertise. Instagram covers so many age groups and locations around the world. 

    An interesting and important statistic is that 75% of users take action after seeing a brand's post. This is what businesses love to hear, interaction with ads is the main goal of the advertisement and Instagram provides a high rate.

    Another useful quality of Instagram is all of the different types of posts that are possible. You can post photos, videos, reels, stories or go live on Instagram. This gives you many options for content creation. Basically, any idea you can come up with can go on your Instagram account. There is even an Instagram shop for users to browse through products.

    One of the difficulties of advertising on Instagram is keeping up with all of the different types of posts. Typically stories are more casual, while photos or videos should be more professional. This takes a lot of planning and work, but if you can figure out how to balance the posts then there is a lot of money waiting for your company.

    In the end, Instagram is a unique platform. While it may be behind Facebook in popularity, there are certain aspects that you could argue it is a better place to advertise.

  1. Instagram has definitely seen an increase in its ad revenue which has led to a lot more small businesses posting their products all over Instagram. I believe that it's one of the strongest social media platforms when it comes to advertising and marketing products along with Facebook. The more posts you have, the more revenue you're going to get off of them.

  2. The opening statement is very true. Instagram is the younger generations Facebook. It was really cool to see someone do the same blog post as me, but with different insights! Instagram is a very popular and powerful platform that is a must for all businesses looking to use marketing strategies. All in all very well put together.
